E-mail Setup Instructions for Outlook 2002

 
 
 

Open Microsoft Outlook 2002 (XP)
Select “Tools”
Select “Email Accounts” from the drop down menu
Be Sure the first option is selected, “Add a new e-mail account”
Select “Next”
Select the second option, “POP3”
Select “Next”
Under “User Information” fill in your name and email address
Under “Server Information” type “pop.batesvillecomputing.com” into "Incoming mail server (POP3):
Under “Server Information” type “smtp.batesvillecomputing.com” into "Outgoing mail server (SMTP):
Your username will automatically appear in the first blank under “Login Information”, however you must add "@batesvillecomputing.com" to the end. (without the quotes)
   NOTE:Your username is your email address
Type in your password
Select “More Settings” from the lower right corner
Type your e-mail address into the “Reply E-mail:” blank
Select the “Outgoing Server” tab at the top of the window
Select the check box that reads, “My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication”
Be sure the first option is selected, it reads, “Use same settings as my incoming mail server”
Select the “Advanced” tab as the top of the window
Highlight the number in the blank next to “Outgoing server (SMTP)” and type “587”
Select “OK”
Select “Test Account Settings…” and wait for all tests to be completed
Select “Close”
Select “Next”
Select “Finish”
Select “Inbox” from the menu on the left of the window to receive messages
